Michael Knight started professional dance training at the late age of 15. He began movement training at age 8 in Tae Kwan Do. Within his first year, he had gained the title of State Champion in both technical forms and physical sparring, and was honored with the invitation to compete as a United States Junior Olympics representative for Tae Kwan Do in Jamaica.
He then transitioned from theater to competitive dance at age 15, training at both All That Dance, Inc in De Pere, WI and at New Fusion Dance and Preforming Arts in Suamico, Wisconsin. He has won numerous title awards, overall high scores and scholarships from various conventions and competitions across the Midwest. Upon graduating, Michael was invited to be a part of the Madison Contemporary Vision Dance Company in Madison, WI.
Michael quickly realized his passion for dance lies within teaching the future generations of dancers and choreographing routines that express his artistic interpretation. Michael has won numerous awards for his choreography, and his dancers garnered accolades for technical execution and overall high-scores for routines at both the regional and national levels.
During the summer, Michael also travels to Sichuan, China to work with both collegiate and independent studios to teach American contemporary styles to a wide range of international students.
